Sherbourn's new receiver features Class A/B architecture and some impressive processing power to boot.

The SR-120 is the latest from Sherbourn, and it's a fine looking receiver. It's got a fairly subdued front side that incorporates a variety of small buttons and comes in a 4U high chassis, ready to be mounted on a rack.

Sherbourn's receiver offers a Class A/B discrete design and plenty of power. The left, right and center channels are rated to 175 watts at four ohms, while the surrounds get 100. It's a 7.1 channel receiver, but if you prefer, you can configure it to 5.1 while leaving the extras for a second zone.

When it comes to processing, the SR-120 is at the top of the game. The receiver incorporates a pair of Cirrus 32-bit dual core DSPs for high resolution audio. On the video side of things, you've got ST-Genesis Torino scaling engine with Vixen software and Faroujda DCDi processing.

The Sherbourn SR-120 will be available this September.
