Paramount is preparing to beam
the next voyage of 'The Original Series' to high-def this March in another feature-laden
box set.
Tomorrow is touchdown for 'Star
Trek: The Original Series - The Complete First Season,' the whopping 10-disc
HD DVD/DVD combo set that Trekkies have been eagerly awaiting for months. As
previously reported, the set includes freshly remastered video
and audio (complete with all-new CGI effects), plus hours of extensive bonus
features and some of the most swanky packaging yet conceived for a high-def
box set release.
Rumors have been swirling for weeks on just when the studio would launch Enterprise
crew's second season in high-def, and now TVShowsonDVD.com is reporting that Paramount has just issued a retail announcement
of March 25 for 'Star
Trek: The Original Series - The Complete Second Season,' which looks to
be every bit as extensive as Season One.
Seeing as a full press release is still forthcoming, there are no official specs yet. However, TVShowsonDVD is also reporting that some fans who attended the [post
1025]recent theatrical previews for the Season One box set got a sneak peek at Season Two, which is apparently slated to include another batch of extensive extras including more "home
movie" footage shot by 'Trek' alum Billy Blackburn.
No word yet on pricing, but we'll keep you posted as soon as more information is officially announced.
