The casting tech is now available on select audio devices.
Onkyo and Pioneer have released a firmware update for select audio gear adding support for Google's Chromecast built-in technology. Likewise, the update also offers voice control support through the Google Home speaker or future Google Assistant Audio devices.
In addition, Pioneer has launched its new MRX-3 Multi-Room Wireless Speaker and Onkyo has launched its new NCP-302 Multi-room Wireless Speaker. Both models include Chromecast-built-in and are now available for an MSRP of $349 (USD) each.
Chromecast built-in tech allows customers with Chromecast-enabled AV products to use their mobile devices to stream music, radio, or podcasts, and control the audio from anywhere in the house using Cast-enabled mobile apps for iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and Windows laptop, and Chromebook. Meanwhile, users can also now use their Google Home or other Google Assistant devices to control supported Pioneer and Onkyo components with voice commands, allowing customers to simply speak instructions for streaming services, song or album selections, volume adjustments, and other playback operations.
