Marvell Introduces Video Evaluation Blu-ray Disc

New benchmarking tool released for testing processing capabilities.

Video quality can be a difficult for people to grasp, especially nuanced improvements that might not be immediately noticeable. Marvell offers a solution, a new High Definition test disc. Enabling much simpler sampling of various indicators of video quality, the disc provides a series of tests to determine a system’s capabilities.

The Qdeo Blu-ray disc was designed to look at a few specific things, such as noise reduction, format conversion which covers de-interlacing, and image enhancement, which includes color remapping , contrast enhancement and bit-resolution-expansion. Different test patterns are enabled to test each of these. Also included is a test pattern to calibrate video settings for your system as well as demonstrations and HD video montages.
