Posted Feb 6, 2009 at 06:00 AM PST by Peter Bracke

The mysteries of Donnie Darko are returning to Blu-ray, with Fox Home Entertainment announcing first details on an April high-def release for the video premiere sequel 'S. Darko.'

Not much is known about the long-in-development sequel to the cult classic 'Donnie Darko,' other than its events take place seven years after those in the original film.

The answers will be revealed on April 28, when Fox releases 'S.Darko: A Donnie Dark Tale' direct-to-video, day-and-date on Blu-ray and DVD.

Text specs will see a BD-50 dual-layer presentation with 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and DTS-HD Lossless Master Audio 5.1 Surround audio.

We don't have confirmation on extras as of yet, but watch this space for further details in the days ahead.

Suggested retail price for the Blu-ray has been set at $34.99.
