The clip offers a peek into an early storyboard meeting for the "Hakuna Matata" song.
To mark the recent Digital HD release of The Lion King and the upcoming Blu-ray release of The Lion King: The Signature Collection, Disney has posted a brief clip from the film's assortment of bonus features. Titled, "Inside The Story Room," the video provides a behind-the-scenes look at the Story Room where the filmmakers pitched ideas and sequences for the movie.
In this particular clip, co-directors Roger Allers and Rob Minkoff discuss developing the "Hakuna Matata" scene, offering archive footage of an early storyboard meeting where they work through the lyrics and shots of the sequence. Of special note, is an extended introductory "Meerkat Verse" that the duo decided to cut for pacing reasons in favor of starting the song with its now famously catchy chorus.
