Sony Ready to hold a 'Grudge' on Blu-ray?
Fri Jun 01, 2007 at 11:15 AM ETTags: Disc Announcements, Sony (all tags)
In what appears to be an all-but-official confirmation of a Blu-ray release for one of the studio's biggest horror hits of 2006, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has included a sneak peek trailer for 'The Grudge 2' on next week's high-def release of 'The Messengers.'
As is common to most Sony Blu-ray releases, 'The Messengers' includes a host of full trailers for many of the studio's current Blu-ray releases, including such already-announced hits as 'Ghost Rider' and 'Blood & Chocolate.'
However, the "Coming Soon to Blu-ray" trailer for 'The Grudge 2' caught our eye, as Sony has not yet announced the title for high-def release. In fact, only a few months ago, the studio denied plans for a Blu-ray release of the spooky sequel, which was originally rumored to debut simultaneously with the standard-def DVD version this past February.
In anticipation of a probable confirmation from the studio, we've added 'The Grudge 2' to the "Release Dates Pending" section of our Blu-ray Release Schedule. We'll keep you posted!
