Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced it will add the movie musical 'Rent' to its Blu-ray line-up this December.

The 2005 adaptation of Jonathan Larson's Tony award-winning Broadway sensation didn't make much of a dent during its original theatrical run, but has now become something of a cult hit on video.

Order 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows'

Coming to Blu-ray June 12th

Sony will debut the musical on Blu-ray December 11, where it will join another just-announced title, 'Legend of Zorro.'

There are no tech specs or supplement details yet available for 'Rent,' but the previous standard-def DVD version was fully loaded, so we can hope some if not all of those extras make the jump to high-def. We'll keep you posted.

Retail has been set at $28.99.

You'll find the latest disc details for 'Rent' linked from our Blu-ray Release Schedule, where it is indexed under December 11 along with 'Legend of Zorro.' Stay tuned for final specs and box art in the days ahead.
