The long-awaited remastered Blu-ray of the classic film starring George C. Scott will be released in early November.
In an early announcement to retailers, 20th Century Fox says 'Patton (Remastered)' will hit Blu-ray on November 6.
This spectacular tribute to one of the most extraordinary figures of World War II, General George S. Patton, Jr., won seven 1970 Academy Awards: Best Picture; Director (Franklin J. Schaffner); Writing, Story and Screenplay Based on Factual Material or Material Not Previously Published or Produced; Sound; Film Editing; Art Direction-Set Direction; and Best Actor for George C. Scott. Scott's unflinching portrayal of the controversial military leader shows him as he was: beloved and despised, charismatic and confrontational. General Patton was a brilliant strategist, a pious man who swore up a storm - and his skills led the United States into the most famous and pivotal battles of the war in Europe.
The Blu ray will feature 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements will include an introduction by Francis Ford Coppola and commentary by Francis Ford Coppola.
A DVD will also be included with the following supplements: History Through the Lens: Patton — A Rebel Revisited Documentary; Patton's Ghost Corps Documentary; The Making of Patton Documentary; Production Still Gallery Accompanied by Jerry Goldsmith's Complete Musical Score; Behind-the-Scenes Still Gallery Accompanied by an Audio Essay on the Historical Patton; and Original Theatrical Trailer.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $24.99.
