The FMJ BDP100 is designed to offer audio performance comparable to a dedicated CD player.

The folks over at Arcam – no, not Arkham – have finally deigned to release a Blu-ray player, and as you might expect from a company specializing in audio, it's a doozy.

Order 'Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows'

Coming to Blu-ray June 12th

Arcam boasts that the FMJ BDP100 uses a simple, nearly direct signal path for video and broadcast quality video clocks which results in a superb picture. That signal path is shielded too, reducing the chances of external interference.

The player sports Wolfson Audio 8741 DACs for audio, as well as a Bessel output filter and a high precision re-clocking system. According to Arcam, you're going to get the same audio performance from the FMJ BDP100 as you would from a dedicated audiophile grade CD player.

The FMJ BDP100 is available now in silver or black at a price of $1,499.
