Monster Madness: Predator vs. Killer Rabbit – Godzilla vs. Cthulhu

Based on this week’s Monster Madness results, Predator takes the crown as champion of the Middleweight monster division, while Cthulhu moves on to face Godzilla in the semi-finals. Today’s two match-ups will reveal our final championship contenders.

We’re finally mixing weight classes here. All of these monsters have bested competitors of their own size. Now they take on each other. Can a small, blood-thirsty rodent outlast a death-dealing hunter from the stars?

Predator – I can’t argue with Predator making it to champion status. His intelligence and hunting acumen make him the perfect specimen to do well in this tournament. Now he faces his true test in the fan-favorite Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog.

Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog – Again, bestowing a championship on the rabbit of death seems more than fair. He’s a great monster because of his killing power and unassuming ability to murder anything, no matter the size.

Final Word: Huh. I’m a little stumped here. On the one hand, it’s hard to vote for the rabbit because Predator is, well, Predator. On the other hand, the Killer Rabbit has the advantage of speed and could lock onto Predator’s neck in the blink of an eye. However, the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog has shown a weakness against weaponry. I’m sure that Predator doesn’t have a Holy Hand Grenade, but he probably has something just as powerful.

It’s fitting that the finals of the Heavyweight bracket come down to two behemoths. Cthulhu has proven that even with largely mysterious powers, one can still command attention and respect when one looks like something that would give Satan himself nightmares. Godzilla’s path of destruction was far more preordained. How can you vote against the big G? How?

Cthulhu – Without nearly as much screen time as some of the other monsters in this tournament, Cthulhu did whatever Cthulhu does and slaughtered everyone who stood in his way. Now he’s up for a real test. Godzilla isn’t the king for nothing.

Godzilla – Even the oozing mass of the unstoppable Blob was stopped by Godzilla. That’s how amazing the terrible lizard from Japan has been. He’s going to need every single power he’s accumulated over his illustrious filmography to defeat Cthulhu, though. Even though we’re not quite sure what Cthulhu specializes in, Godzilla won’t have an easy path to being crowned the ultimate champion.

Final Word: Godzilla.

  1. It’s time for the Big G to finally stomp Cthulhu.

The Predator will slay the bunny for the same reason he slayed Samael. Hunting creatures like that are his bread-and-butter.

    • True, the Predz is a natural at this, but the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog cannot be slain by mere weaponry alone! If Ol’ Predzy can get his swampy hands on an ancient relic that has holy explosive power, he might just stand a chance.

I am with Jonathan on this. I mean, Preditor is cool, but in all his weapons, he doesn’t have Holy Hand Grenade. Rabbit wins this one

While technically, Cthulhu would be a worse monster for humanity, I’m going to have to vote for Godzilla here. A product of The Atomic Age, I strongly suspect Godzilla’s powers could overwhelm the pre-Atomic Cthulhu.

        • You’re forgetting, the Killer Rabbit is at least enough of a worthy prey, that the Predator would take it’s mask off in respect for a final showdown. Then the rabbit would just make a dash for his jugular and the predator’s head would fall off! Simples! Not to mention, let’s face it, the Predator’s main advantage is his cloaking. I suspect this would be irrelevant to the senses of the Killer Rabbit of Caerbannog…. (Come on, people! Who doesn’t honestly want to see a showdown between a killer rabbit and a giant older god that drives men insane or a giant nuclear-fire-breathing mutant lizard?!)

Cthulhu would easily beat Godzilla, but I hate to say it, I think Godzilla will win via popularity. After all, Godzilla is not only a nuclear-fire breathing giant reptile, but also somewhat of a good-guy in many of the movies. Cthulhu is an ancient terrible horror from before the time of man.

Although Godzilla could never defeat Cthulhu, he could plausibly keep him from passing fully into our realm of existence and thereby ‘defeat’ him.

Looks like Preditor is winning via popularity as well. Oh well, I would have loved to have seen the bunny win all, but it doesn’t look like its going to happen.

Godzilla couldn’t even eat out Matthew Broderick.

Cthulhu is 7x bigger, knows more magic than Ricky Jay, and can fly.

First of all, Zilla the abomination from the American film is not Godzilla. We’re not talking about that pussy but the “real” Japanese Godzilla!

Second, No one knows how big Cthulhu really is (just estimates from sailors)… He could be 200 feet tall for all we know and he would still be much smaller than Godzilla. Even if he was much bigger than Godzilla, it doesn’t matter, because Godzilla has kicked monsters asses before MUCH bigger than him.

Third, Godzilla can fly too! 😉

Anybody voting against big g are just hatin. He would make quick work of squid face. And he doesnt breathe fire, its a consentrated blast of radiation. Godzilla is from Japan. They know how to do seafood. Big G would fry up some cthulu calamari in no time.

  5. Cthulhu is a god who exists on a different plane of reality. Godzilla is just a big nuclear mutant. Don’t get me wrong, I know big G will win on popularity, but honestly, Cthulhu would have this one, just by scaring G to death. 😉

Think it’s a shame the Predator is winning against the beast of Caerbannog though. I mean, I love the Pred, but…. the rabbit is just soooooo cool. 😉

    • Alex Hurley

Different plane of reality ay? Cthulhu has his face smashed in by a little bitch boat! Godzilla I’m sure can do billion times more damaged than a fucking boat made by puny humans! Actually, if I recall correctly, Godzilla eats boats for breakfast! Cthulhu is nothing but a mere bully, kind of like Gabara. We all know what happened Gabara! lmfao

Scaring him to death? When has he ever been scared? Have you seen Destroyah? If that isnt a spawn of satan what is? And how exactly would Cthulu defeat Godzilla?
