Last week, Rhedosaurus was bested by the Balrog, while Frankenstein’s Monster couldn’t quite get past Goldblum’s Brundlefly. Today, we’ll find out what happens when a Graboid meets a Gwoemul, and whether a Gremlin is any match for a Dilophosaurus.

Kevin Bacon had his hands full trying to battle a swarm of giant burrowing worms that terrorized a secluded desert town. In South Korea, residents got mangled and eaten by what appeared to be a giant mutated fish. This will surely be an interesting fight. For one thing, both of these monsters could actually fit in the “big-but-not-Godzilla-big” category. They also both have pretty unique abilities.

Graboid – These subterranean creatures can move under the ground with ease, striking their victims at the most inopportune times. In ‘Tremors, this led to many great scenes with Kevin Bacon on rooftops shouting at people that they were going to die.

Strengths: Their burrowing abilities are their main strength. They are quite fast underground. They also have really thick skin that makes them hard to kill. They’re strong and can pull you into their large gaping maws with tentacles.

Weaknesses: Once they’re out from underground, they’re vulnerable. They just don’t move as quickly above ground. They can be killed by conventional weapons.

Gwoemul – Let this be a lesson to all those who pollute their natural surroundings. One day when you’re not expecting it, a mutated organism will rise out of your filthy water and feed on your flesh, pissed off that it’s even alive in the first place.

Strengths: It’s aggressive, agile and very mean.

Weaknesses: In ‘The Host‘, Gwoemul is shown to be susceptible to fire, and can also be taken down with conventional weaponry.

It’s the age-old question, right? Who would win, a dinosaur or a gremlin? Well, we’re here to answer that question, whatever it takes. No matter how many fat Nedry’s we have to splatter with toxic sludge, we’ll get to the bottom of this. In the words of the immortal Samuel L. Jackson, “Hold onto your butts.”

Stripe – The leader of the Gremlins, this mischievous little bloke made it so that I’d never really trust a person with a Mohawk. Plus, he’s really mean to that poor Gizmo.

Strengths: He has some great leadership skills. He’s fairly intelligent when it comes to creating deadly mischief. He could get the drop on Dilophosaurus.

Weaknesses: Sunlight.

Dilophosaurus – He may look cute and innocent, shaking his body and presenting that wonderfully colorful hood of flappy skin he’s got there. Don’t be fooled, though. He will mess you up.

Strengths: Acidic Death Spit. Yeah, that stuff’s pretty bad. I was always a little disappointed that the ‘Jurassic Park‘ movie didn’t go as far as the book with Nedry’s death, though. In the book, Dilophosaurus slices open Nedry’s guts, spilling his intestines into his own hands. Now that’s gruesome.

Weaknesses: They went extinct for a reason. Stupid dinosaurs.
