Michelle Williams recently won a Golden Globe for her dead-on portrayal of Marilyn Monroe in 'My Week with Marylin.' In my opinion, her performance was good enough to win her an Oscar. She was beaten by Meryl Streep, but in my mind, Williams delivered the best performance by any actress in 2011.

This week we start a new March Madness-themed tournament like we did last year. Remember the Movie Madness Tournament? Well, we're starting a March TV Madness Tournament where we've come up with a field of 64 combatants from television who will do battle with each other to see who the biggest badass of television is. Last week's roundtable featured Andy Parsons, Senior Vice President Corporate Communications for Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. and Lori MacPherson, Executive Vice President of Global Product Management for The Walt Disney Studios. Long job titles aside, the roundtable proved to be fairly informative as to the way that Blu-ray is moving, the technologies it hopes to work up to (like 4k resolution), and the expectations Disney has from the format.

Today's journal is the last one of the festival. Day 8 turned out to be my last full day of movie watching. It's been a fun and exhausting ride.

I'm convinced that the toughest part of Sundance is catching a screening that goes until midnight, and then turning around and going to a 9:00am screening the next morning. I don't do it very often, but that's what happened to me today.

This festival is doing anything but flying by. It's only Tuesday, but I feel like it should be Friday. That's not necessarily a bad thing though...

After having such hectic schedules the first two days I decided that for Day 3 I'd take it easy...well, at least in the morning.

These daily journals of my festival experience have less to do with movies and more to do with the goings-on of a film festival like Sundance.
