'Blue Velvet' Dated for Blu-ray[teaser]David Lynch's 1986 thriller is slated for November. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, MGM/UA will be bringing 'Blue Velvet' to Blu-ray on November 8. The mysterious film that earned Lynch a Best Director nomination at the Oscars stars Isabella Rossellini, Kyle MacLachlan and Dennis Hopper. Specs and supplements have yet to be revealed, but the release will be a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack with a suggested list price for the Blu-ray is $24.99. 'Dressed to Kill' Blu-ray Detailed[teaser]Brian De Palma's controversial 1980 thriller coming to Blu-ray next month has been fully detailed. [/teaser] As previously reported, 20th Century Fox/MGM have revealed 'Dressed to Kill' will have a Blu-ray release on September 6. The film starring Michael Caine, Angie Dickinson, and Nancy Allen seems to have divided critical audiences receiving four Saturn Award nominations (with Dickinson winning Best Actress) and a New Female Star of the Year Golden Globe nomination for Allen, along with three Razzie nominations - Worst Actor (Caine), Worst Actress (Allen) and Worst Director (De Palma). The Blu-ray will include the uncut version of the movie with 1080p video, a DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements will include The Making of Dressed to Kill; Unrated, R-Rated and TV-Rated Comparison; Slashing Dressed to Kill; An Appreciation by Keith Gordon; animated photo gallery; and theatrical trailer. 'Meet Me in St. Louis' Bound for Blu-ray[teaser]The 1944 Judy Garland musical is planned for Blu-ray in December. [/teaser] In an early announcement to retailers, Warner Brothers has revealed 'Meet Me in St. Louis' is heading to Blu-ray on December 13. The beloved classic directed by Vincente Minnelli was nominated for four Oscars including Best Cinematography, Best Music - Original Song (The Trolley Song), Best Musical Score, and Best Screenplay. Denon Announces a New 5.1 Channel Home Theater System[teaser]You'll get an AVR-1312 receiver and the SYS-1312 surround speaker package. [/teaser] If you've ever tried to upgrade a home theater in a box then you may have run into the problem of proprietary cables which completely shut down the option. It'd be nice to be able to run new speakers or pick up a new receiver, but it's just not a thing you can do. That's one of the very nice things about picking up one of Denon's home theater systems. The new DHT-1312XP 5.1 system comes with a proper receiver.
