New website shows how much information can be gleaned from a selfie.
Ubisoft is using 'Watch Dogs 2's "Big Brother" theme in a fun way, as they now want players to take a selfie. Over at the game's official website, players can upload an image of themselves (or anyone, really) and the photo will be analyzed. It'll attempt to read the person's personality and offer up what potential employers and financial institutions will see in the photo. Of course, everything should be taken with a grain of salt since this is just for entertainment purposes.
"All that is required for inclusion in a facial recognition database is a selfie," said 'Watch Dogs 2's creative consultant on hacker tools David Maynor. "Selfies could be thought of as taking your own mug shot in this regard. These pictures can be mined for behavior and lifestyle indicators over time. As a hypothetical example, can you imagine getting an email from your healthcare provider where they noticed you have gained weight by comparing a series of selfies over the last year and as a result your premiums are going up?"
'Watch Dogs 2' releases November 15th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. Those that pre-order the game will gain access to an extra mission called the 'Zodiac Killer.'
