A new video service has joined the SmartCast lineup.
VIZIO has announced the addition of FandangoNOW to its collection of integrated SmartCast apps. The premium on-demand video service now joins other VIZIO SmartCast- enabled services, including VUDU, Hulu, and Google Play Movies & TV.
"We're thrilled to bring FandangoNOW to the fingertips of our VIZIO SmartCast users," said Matt McRae, Chief Technology Officer, VIZIO. "The VIZIO SmartCast app makes it easier than ever for consumers to control their devices, giving them the ability to search and browse multiple content catalogs at one time before tapping to select content and cast to the display. By integrating FandangoNOW into the VIZIO SmartCast app, we're giving consumers another way to further enhance their entertainment experience."
FandangoNOW offers more than 40,000 movies and TV shows, including a growing selection of 4K and HDR titles. The VIZIO SmartCast app allows users to control their VIZIO SmartCast devices from any room in the home and stream content from their mobile devices straight to the big screen. SmartCast users can also search and browse content by genre across multiple apps at once, allowing customers to browse through titles from FandangoNOW alongside catalogs from other popular apps. In addition, the newly improved app now offers a faster all-around content aggregation experience with quicker load times and speedier search results. The VIZIO SmartCast app is available for download on iOS and Android smartphones or tablets, and comes preinstalled on the 2016 P-Series and M-Series Android Tablet Remotes.
"We're excited to offer FandangoNOW and our extensive library of new release movies and next-day TV shows on the cutting-edge VIZIO SmartCast app," said Adam Rockmore, Chief Marketing Officer, FandangoNOW. "We want to offer consumers easy access to the best entertainment options available for streaming and the VIZIO SmartCast app greatly streamlines that experience."
The VIZIO SmartCast ecosystem includes the company's 2016 P-Series, M-Series, and E-Series 4K Ultra HD Displays, as well as several soundbar models.
