And of course, the normal PS4 is going nowhere.
Sony Interactive Entertainment President Andrew House has disclosed to the Financial Times some important details about the new PS4 hardware in the development, the PS4 Neo. Namely, the Neo will not be introduced at E3. When the new console hardware does come to market, it will not be replacing the current PS4.
From Andrew House, "It is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4. We will be selling both through the life cycle."
And naturally, that means that, "All games will support the standard PS4, and we anticipate all or a very large majority of games will also support the high-end PS4."
With these statements, House has set up the PS4 Neo as a premium/ "high-end" PS4 SKU, and one that will require developer support but won't lock out the original PS4 from any new games.
For now, it's all about E3, and to a lesser extent, PlayStation VR.
