Also being developed for the PS4 camera.
Ok, so Kinect hasn't yet wowed users with gameplay applications on the Xbox One. ('Disney Fantasia: Music Evolved' being an exception). The one-time mandatory device doesn't seem to make sense for most developers, and yet, there are millions of this formerly topical add-on floating around. Could there be a developer somewhere out in indie land that has an idea for making the Kinect more than just a way to navigate menus?
One such candidate is Grande Games. Based in Stuttgart, Germany, Grande Games has been developing 'Commander Cherry's Puzzled Journey' since 2013, and now it seems, the game will be released this year. 'Commander Cherry's Puzzled Journey' is a platformer that requires the Xbox One's Kinnect (or the PS4 Camera) in order to facilitate Yoga-Action. What that means is that in order for Commander Cherry to navigate each level, the human player must contort themselves into certain poses that are caught on camera and brought into the game's world.
Observe:
'Commander Cherry's Puzzled Journey' doesn't boast of the kind of visuals that make for a chart-topper, and it's unlikely to be a game that compels sales of the Kinect, and yet, the game does use the Kinect in novel way not unlike 'Tearaway.' As the developer puts it, "make a selfie you can walk on with your character."
