DTS Headphone:X 7.1, Bluetooth, ANC, and more.
Last year, Turtle Beach unleashed a headset worthy of being paired with the PS4. That headset, the Turtle Beach Elite 800 (review here), is so packed full of features, from DTS Headphone:X 7.1 surround sound, Bluetooth, to active noise cancelling, companion apps, swappable faceplates, custom EQs, comfort design, 3.5mm support, invisible mics, Elite membership, and more. Sadly, one thing the Elite 800 lacked was fully wireless support of the Xbox One.
In fact, most wireless headsets have to be tethered to the Xbox One controller and have to rely on the controller for transmitted chat. After successfully producing a fully wireless model in the 500X, Turtle Beach is following up with the fully wireless (even with the Xbox One) Turtle Beach Elite 800X, which is just as packed with features as the Elite 800.
I was able to demo the Elite 800X at CES with the Xbox exclusive 'Killer Instinct,' and despite being in an exhibit hall packed with wireless signals, the Elite 800X performed like a champ. For any Xbox One owners who have been holding out for a high-end headset, or a completely wireless solution, now is the time to buy.
The Elite 800X is up for preorder for $299.95 on both Amazon and Turtle Beach with an expected release of May 22nd.
