For PS4 and Xbox One.
'Titanfall 2' may release October 26th, but players will be able to get their hands on Respawn Entertainment's highly anticipated sequel (check out our impressions) before then. Publisher Electronic Arts has announced that there will be two separate multiplayer technical tests in August. The first weekend of public testing will be from August 19th to the 21st, while the second weekend will take place one week later (26th to the 28th).
Despite 'Titanfall 2' releasing on consoles and PC, the technical test will only be for PS4 and Xbox One owners. Console players will be able to check out two different modes during the test. These include a brand new mode called Bounty Hunt that forces players to deposit the points they earn during the match before they die, and a mech-free alternative called Pilots vs. Pilots. These modes will be able to be played on two separate maps: Boomtown, an underground IMC lab, and Homestead, an outdoor area with large fields for Titans to fight in.
See for yourself what players will get to experience in 'Titanfall 2's multiplayer tech test in the trailer below:
On the second weekend of the test (which goes down August 26th to the 28th), Respawn will be introducing an additional mode and map to the mix. The mode is called Amped Hardpoint, which builds upon 'Titanfall's Hardpoint Domination by allowing players to amp hardpoints in order to double their score. Meanwhile, the third map is Forward Base Kodai, a smaller map that will make sure encounters happen often.
'Titanfall 2' releases for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC on October 26th, and the multiplayer tech test begins August 19th..
