"All parties are working quickly as possible to remedy the issue."
Update: At 1PM PDT, Sony announced that the issue had been resolved and that 'MLB 14 The Show' is now available to download for the PS4.
Original story follows:
With the introduction of the PS4 and the continued evolution of PlayStation Plus, Sony has won over many fans in terms of digital game ownership. For years, Sony has pushed certain big titles as being available to purchase and download on launch day. These games have been pushed as Day 1 Digital titles. With the recent 1.70, Sony is even beginning to introduce auto-downloading (pre-loading) in order to really offer games digitally that can be played on release day.
Unfortunately, as it is today, Sony's own 'MLB 14 The Show' for the PS4, which has been pushed as a pre-orderable and downloadable on launch day, is not currently available to download. Those that have pre-ordered are stuck in a familiar situation, waiting for an update to download their purchase.
From Sony, "Due to unforeseen technical issues, MLB 14 The Show for PS4 is not currently available for download via the PlayStation Store. All parties are working as quickly as possible to remedy the issue. We’ll update this post as soon as a resolution is reached. Thank you for your continued patience."
Hopefully, the issue is resolved within a few hours, but it's clear that the Day 1 Digital program is still not fulfilling the promise of its name.
