Plus, some explanation on why the studio is going with a different Holmes.
The next entry in the Sherlock Holmes game franchise, 'The Devil's Daughter,' will be launching at the end of this week on June 10, and developer Frogwares has released a new story trailer to introduce everyone to a slightly new take on the great detective.
The trailer introduces the player to Katelyn Holmes, Sherlock Holmes' daughter. Frogwares addressed in a blog post that this new character is the reason they decided to feature a different take on the Sherlock Holmes character in this game. Instead of the cold, calculated, and aloof Sherlock that audiences are likely used to by now, the developers needed a new kind of character that would feel the need to take close care of his daughter even as he's out solving London's trickiest murder cases.
The developers stress that the gameplay that players have grown accustomed to will be perfectly intact. It's the narrative that might be a bit more emotionally heavy.
