Compilation's insane Gamerscore explained.
Compilations are wonderful things, and even in these halcyon days of Achievements and Trophies, getting that tiny validation for doing something gamers did unlauded for years is a tiny thrill.
So, when 'Rare Replay' got announced as having a 10,000 point Gamerscore, folks naturally got excited. There is, however, a catch. Yes, the compilation, total, has 10,000 points to earn. The fine print, according to an interview with a Rare staffer, is that the 10,000 includes 7,220 points from 360 games that do not repeat. This means if you played 'Perfect Dark' when it was on XBLA, and got 250 Achievement points off it, scratch those 250 off the total for 'Rare Replay'.
That's the mild downside. The upshot is that, on top of still having 2,700 points to nab, if you saved your game in the Cloud for any of the 360 titles, they're accessible right off the bat for 'Rare Replay'. And exhale, anyone worried about having to replay 'Banjo Tooie'. The game is still set to hit August 4th, for the cool price of $29.99.
