The new lineup includes a 7.2 channel Dolby Atmos/DTS:X model for $600.
Pioneer has announced the launch of two new AV receivers. The VSX-1131 and the VSX-831 both include 4K Ultra HD support with HDR and HDCP 2.2 compliancy.
The VSX-1131 is a 7.2 channel receiver with 170 W/ch and a high-grade 384kHz/32bit DAC (AK4458) produced by AKM. In addition, the unit features integrated support for Dolby Atmos and future support for DTS:X via a firmware update coming in the fall. Likewise, the receiver uses MCACC and Reflex Optimizer to calibrate Dolby Atmos enabled speakers for immersive audio without requiring overhead speakers. 4K/60p/4:4:4 24-bit video signal transmission with HDCP 2.2 compliancy is offered as well, along with support for HDR and BT.2020 sources. The VSX-1131 also supports high resolution sound (192kHz / 24-bit) in FLAC, WAV, AIFF and Apple lossless file formats, DSD (2.8/5.6MHz), and Dolby TrueHD. FInally, GoogleCast, AirPlay, FireConnect, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity are included as well.
Meanwhile, the VSX-831 is a 5.2 channel receiver with 140 W/ch and the same quality DAC as the step up VSX-1131. The unit also offers support for 4K/60p/4:4:4 24-bit video signal transmission with HDCP 2.2 compliancy, HDR, and BT.2020. Likewise, MCACC calibration is integrated as well, along with GoogleCast, AirPlay, FireConnect, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi connectivity, and high res audio playback. With that said, this model does not include Dolby Atmos or DTS:X support.
Pioneer's VSX-1131 ($600) and VSX-831 ($450) are now available for purchase. The company also recently announced the LX301 ($700) & LX101 ($500) 7.2 Channel Elite Network Receivers, and the new SW-10 Powered Subwoofer. The LX301 is a 7.2 channel receiver with 170 W/ch, while the LX101 is a 7.2 channel receiver with 140 W/ch. Both models include Dolby Atmos support and future DTS:X support.
