Gaming enthusiasts that feel like sports game have gotten too complicated will rejoice with the announcement of 'Old Time Hockey.' This arcade sports title takes inspiration from classic titles from the 80s and 90s to offer up a modern game that is more accessible. This light-hearted hockey game takes place in the 70s, and will release on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam early next year.
"Everything from 'NHL 94,' 'Blades of Steel,' to other sports titles like 'NBA Jam' and 'Tecmo Bowl' inspired us," revealed Director Karthik Venkateshan. Venkateshan said that the team "wanted to recreate that old familiar experience of playing these games on the couch with friends," which is why 'Old Time Hockey' will feature 5-on-5 gameplay, and can use a simple two-button control scheme as well as more modern variations.
