Game may be looking for a new publisher in the U.S.
You may have noticed that, of all the WiiU titles mentioned and shown during E3, Tomonobu Itagaki's 'Devil's Third' was conspicuously missing. There might be a good reason for that. According to Unseen64, one of the best sources of info on cancelled/prototyped video games, Nintendo might be quietly backing away from the game, and, in fact, might not be publishing the game in North America altogether.
The word around the campfire appears to be a simple question of quality. That is, most everyone who's played it so far says the game sucks. Nintendo, who have a history of distancing themselves when they know they have a stinker on their hands (see, as the video points out, why 'Project H.A.M.M.E.R.' and 'Disaster: Day of Crisis' never happened), have taken the initiative to not push the game as a result.
The video is, however, quick to remind that this doesn't necessarily mean the game won't come out on American soil, simply that Nintendo won't be the ones publishing it if it does. No word yet on if anyone's planning to pick up the slack, however. In the meantime, the game has a different publisher in Europe, and it's full speed ahead for a release on August 28th, with a press embargo ending on July 15th. We'll find out if NOA made the right call then.
