Just in time for Father's Day, Logitech is providing many new features for its Harmony remotes.
Logitech has announced the arrival of a brand new software update for its Harmony remotes. The new features include support for Sonos speakers, Amazon Fire TV integration, and a voice search option.
With the new update, owners of the Harmony Ultimate (reviewed here) and Harmony Smart Control, can use their remotes to control their Sonos speakers. Users can control playback and volume from the buttons on their remotes. In addition, customers can access their Sonos Favorites on the Harmony Ultimate touch screen or the Harmony Smartphone app. Meanwhile, Harmony has also added a soft keyboard and voice recognition search to its Smartphone app, giving users the option of speaking their Amazon Fire TV, Roku 3, Apple TV, PC, and Mac searches directly into their smartphones. Finally, the update has also improved setup with the Harmony Ultimate Hub, offering automatic detection of network devices like Philips Hue lights, Rokus, and Sonos speakers.
The Harmony Remote and smartphone app updates are available now. The Harmony Ultimate is currently on sale for a suggested retail price of $349, and the Harmony Smart Control is currently on sale for $130.
