The smartphone features an integrated laser projector.
Last week at the Lenovo Tech World Conference, Lenovo revealed their Smart Cast concept phone. The prototype mobile device allows users to transform any surface into a touchscreen.
The Smart Cast uses a built-in laser projector, infrared motion detector, and high-performance algorithms to project a virtual touch display onto tables or other flat surfaces. Once projected, customers can interact with the image like an actual touchscreen, allowing them to use a virtual keyboard or play games like Fruit Ninja. Likewise, the projector can also be used in a traditional way to beam video content and pictures onto walls. At the Tech World Conference, the company showed off the phone's special features by having piantist, Lang Lang, play a piece on a virtual piano projected by the Smart Cast.
For now, the Smart Cast is just a concept phone and there is now word on pricing or availability at this time.
