Big things going forward.
It's almost that time. After five months of preview and nearly two years since the launch of the Xbox One, Microsoft is adding 360 backwards compatibility to the Xbox One. This feature will go out to everyone as part of the New Xbox One Experience on November 12th. It will start with 104 games, many expected and known, others are more surprising. What's even more surprising is the game that will be added in December and beyond, which happen to include 'Call of Duty: Black Ops' & all three 'BioShock' games,
Just last week, in the preview program, I placed my 'Mass Effect' 360 disc into the Xbox One, had the b/c version download, went to Manage Game, and downloaded the two DLC packages I owned, loaded up a 50 hour save (via a 360 cloud save) from six years ago and proceeded to beat the game.
The list of 104 360 games is below, but it's only the beginning. (The running list can be found here.)
From Mike Ybarra, "Our launch of 104 titles on Nov. 12 is just the beginning. You can expect new Xbox One Backward Compatible games to be announced on a regular basis, starting in December. More titles are on the way, including fan favorites like Halo Reach, Halo Wars, Call of Duty: Black Ops, Bioshock, Bioshock 2, Bioshock Infinite and Skate 3. Stay tuned because this just the beginning of a long list of Xbox 360 games that will run on Xbox One."
