In an early announcement to retailers, Sony will release 'Helix: The Complete First Season' on Blu-ray on July 1.
HELIX is an intense thriller about a team of scientists from the Centers for Disease Control who travel to a high-tech research facility in the Arctic to investigate a possible disease outbreak, only to find themselves pulled into a terrifying life-and-death struggle that holds the key to mankind’s salvation or total annihilation.
The 3-Disc Set will feature 1080p video, a lossless 5.1 soundtrack, and supplements include: Pilot Commentary with Billy Campbell and Cameron Porsandeh; Commentary on "Dans L'Ombre" with Billy Campbell and Steven Maeda; Deleted Scenes/Outtakes; and Four Production Featurettes.
Blu-ray exclusives include: Fabricating the Plague – From conceiving the look of the virus in stages to creating the right mix of guts and gore, "Fabricating the Plague" reveals the state of art effects techniques used to create a devastating plague, and Writing the Tension – An inside look at the process of writing a serialized thriller.
Suggested list price for the Blu-ray set is $65.99.
