And it's about time.
Even the biggest fans of the 'LEGO' games series, can tell you that the formula has been overdue for some fresh gameplay elements. Fortunately, with 'LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens,' the formula is seeing some major changes. Not only will the game feature several Millennium Falcon and X-Wing-based flying and dogfighting missions, there will also be a new kind of laser combat featured on the ground. This is a design meant to make battles feel distinct from the typical running around.
Even better, the game will now have proper multi-builds. That is, levels will have multiple solutions that will be based on how the players decide to use there buildable LEGOs.
Beyond these much needed gameplay features, the game will also see several story additions that were not in the movie (but were hinted at). For example, Han Solo and Chewie's entire Rathtar venture. There will be more Poe Dameron adventures, and there will also be some substantial Lor San Tekka sequences.
See all of this on display in the new gameplay trailer:
Everything is looking great. Now to wait until June 28th.
