The dark soul will burn.
Veteran 'Souls' (and 'Bloodborne') players will instantly recognize what is familiar in the new 'Dark Souls III' trailer. It's a dark ballet, often prefaced by a readying of one sort or another, almost like an opening challenge. What is likely the most familiar is that attempt to move away from a dangerous strike, say by a boss, only to be caught and extinguished. Still, each death, each run, each stroke, brings with it a tempo that should help that overall movement through the game.
There's lots of dual-wielding on display and much more dodging than any sort of block (which is ideal for stamina, durability, health, poise, etc.).
While this trailer appears to targeted directly at the existing fan base, I wonder if it all fascinates the unfamiliar. Now, whose excited?
