Lots of new stuff for the 3DS.
In today's mini Nintendo Direct Micro (ahead of E3), Nintendo revealed a few nice surprises. The most surprising has to be the return of the GameCube's Chibi-Robo, who's coming to the 3DS in a Bionic Commando like platformer called 'Chibi-Robo!: Zip Lash' and of course, as an amiibo. The new game is due this October.
For RPG fans, the not so surprising but still very welcome announcement of 'Bravely Second End Layer' as coming west is pretty significant.
Meanwhile, Nintendo is returning to the well for the new take on an old classic in 'Dr. Mario: Miracle Cure.' The miracle cure feature is the 3DS game's twist, but fortunately, they can be disabled.
Also announced for both the 3DS and Wii U is 'Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games,' which will feature soccer/football.
Nintendo is also looking to get fans excited during E3 with two new initiatives, detailed below:
From Nintendo:
Nintendo World Championships 2015 –Twenty-five years after the original, the Nintendo World Championships return on June 14, set to start at 3 p.m. PT, with pre-show broadcasts kicking off the day’s activities prior to the tournament. While the full lineup of games won’t be unveiled until the big event, hopeful contestants can prepare to compete in the original The Legend of Zelda, as well as a mix of other Nintendo games.
Periscope / Snapchat – Nintendo is expanding its social media presence … right in time for E3! Fans can follow @NintendoAmerica on both Periscope and Snapchat to reveal fun behind-the-scenes content leading up to and during the video game trade show June 16-18.
