Giving you more options when looking for a match.
343 Industries has revealed a bit more about what is going into the upcoming 'Memories of Reach' update for 'Halo 5.' Matchmaking and player movement are two items that are on the change list.
Once 'Memories of Reach' drops, 'Halo 5' players will be able to set their matchmaking search preferences when finding an online multiplayer game. Players will be able to set their search to Expanded, which eases the skill and connection quality matchmaking criteria to prioritize matchmaking speed, and Focused, which sets stricter parameters to search for an optimum match-up at the cost of increased search times.
Of course, players can always leave this setting at Balanced, the default setting and what currently exists for 'Halo 5' matchmaking.
'Memories of Reach' will also increase the movement speed of players while crouching, bringing it up slightly to a so-called "sweet spot" that makes crouching "a more viable choice for players to flank and attack," according to the developer. Also changing in terms of player movement is the Spartan Charge. The maneuver will no longer be a one-hit kill when used with Speed Boost or the Gravity Hammer. On the plus side for Spartan Charge users, a bug with Spartan Charge targetting will also be fixed.
