It's got a bit of 'Minesweeper' in it.
From Red Winter Software and tinyBuild Games, 'Dungelot Shattered Lands' is now available on Steam for PC. This roguelike features a 'Minesweeper' type grid, which the player must click through, finding items, enemies, and hopefully the key to get to the next floor.
I've played the iOS version, and I was shocked at both how addictive the game was, and how well the traditional RPG systems had been integrated into the design. The game plays very fast, but you don't have to take my word for it.
Today, tinyBuild is hosting The Dungelot 100 Floor Twitch Challenge. Basically streamers play a special build of the game, and the fastest ten streamers to beat all 100 floors, get free tinyBuild games on Steam for life.
Why would you care about these streamers? Well, aside from checking it out the game, these streams have a build that issues Steam keys every so many floors. In fact, I picked up a Steam key this way.
That was via this Hyperkind stream:
Here are some more details about the game from tinyBuild:
Dungelot: Shattered Lands takes you on an epic roguelike dungeon-crawler adventure to defeat zombie cows, splat giant evil mushrooms, and generally get back home in one piece. Deceptively simple, ever so addictive.
3 big worlds to explore
4 characters to upgrade, each with distinctive play styles
18 dungeons to fight through
Mini games to uncover, side-quests to undertake
Bosses to fight, merchants to trade with, and secrets to uncover
Developed by Red Winter, a two man studio based in Russia, Dungelot: Shattered Lands is the third part in the popular series, and tasks the player with traversing randomly-generated dungeons, smashing enemies in the face and hunting for the keys that will allow you to venture even further. Dungelot originally became a cult hit thanks to its addictive "just one more go" feel, and with Shattered Lands, the Dungelot formula has now been fully realized.
Dungelot: Shattered Lands features dozens of hours of content, with three worlds to explore, hundreds of items, spells and enemies, and epic boss battles that will burn your face off.
