Can be played during games.
Music Streaming service Spotify is coming to the PS4 and PS3 (as well as Sony's Xperia lineup), and it's coming as part of Sony's PlayStation Music brand. The service is set to launch in 41 markets sometime after March 29th, 2015. In spite of the "PlayStation Music featuring Spotify" branding, the service will feature the existing Spotify service with the same free ad-based and premium options. Current Spotify members will be able to link their Spotify and PSN accounts and enjoy their current Spotify set-up on the new PlayStation platforms.
Users can bring in their Spotify playlists and enjoy music while playing games on the PS4 and PS3.
The PS4 and PS3 are the "initial" platforms, and it's possible that the service may come to the Vita at some point in the future. The announcement of this new PlayStation Music featuring Spotify service means the end of Sony's short-lived Music Unlimited service. Music Unlimited will be shut down on March 29th, 2015.
