It is a different flavor of 'Battlefield.'
'Battlefield Hardline' really wants to stand out for the normal war-time 'Battlefield' setting. The new game is a drug ring fling that spans from the Florida Keys out to the So Cal coast, but more than that, it is an urban war setting, full of car chases and escalating cops v robbers play. The new beta runs from February 3rd through February 8th on the PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS3, and 360 (requires Origin), and is meant to show how the different gadgets and game modes make for a new game experience.
Tasing bad guys or driving away with loot seems like the right kind of new, but then the tanks show up.
Grappling hooks, zipline crossbows, tracer dart guns, and hackings are among the gadgets and tech that power this new sort of combat. All of this new stuff is in the beta, but what hasn't been promised is the game's single player cop show story. which might be its best feature.
