Pikachu Libre makes this worth it alone, really.
Nintendo has announced today that the upcoming Bandai Namco Wii U 'Pokémon' fighting game 'Pokken Tournament' will be released in the US and Europe on March 18th, 2016. The game was previously set for a Spring release window, so the release appears to have been brought foward somewhat. The game is produced by Katsuhiro Harada of 'Tekken' fame, and looks to be fairly similar to that franchise, mechanically. The game will feature 16 fighters such as Mewtwo, Lucario, and my personal favorite, Pikachu Libre, a lucha libre fighter that Nintendo describes as "a small masked fighter overflowing with fighting spirit."
The game looks very cute and really fun, and I'm personally pretty eager to check it out at some point. It's a fairly strange collaboration, but hey, so was 'Pokémon Conquest', and that game turned out great.
