Coming soon to Vita and next year to Wii U.
Console 'Minecraft' players are now able to download Update 1.8.8, what Mojang calls its "biggest update ever," on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
With this latest update, Mojang said, the console versions of 'Minecraft' are now closer to the latest PC version of the game than they ever have been. The update adds tons of new items, blocks, biomes, and features for 'Minecraft' fans who prefer to play on a console.
PS Vita players will have to wait a few extra days for the update, but it is quickly on its way. Players who are already making progress in the new Wii U version, however, won't see this hefty update until some time next year.
With Update 1.8.8 console players are able to explore nine new biomes—not to mention exploring the briny deep with the newly implemented Potion of Water Breathing—all the while mining new blocks like granite, andesite, and diorite.
