Game is currently playable from beginning to end.
It's always a bit worrisome whenever things go quiet on a Square Enix project for longer than a few months, especially one with as rough a history as 'Final Fantasy XV', but that has been the case since the last update to 'Final Fantasy XV: Episode Discae" happened, but everyone can officially relax. Rejoice, even. In an update on the official forums for the game, programmer Satoshi Kitade announced that the game is playable from start to finish. In film terms, basically, principal photography's a done deal.
Now, of course, comes the arduous job of editing, scoring, and tweaking as needed, with the post stating focus is now being put into finessing the user experience side of things. Even then, though, Kitade mentions that the first half of the game is pretty much ready to go, that it has "the quality of a final product, and you get the sense you’re playing it in its final form.”
The game will have its proper release date announced at a special event in March 2016. After years of waiting, things finally seem to be accelerating along. Again: Rejoice.
