A big haul for the Xbox One.
After a successful tour in the Xbox One Game Preview Program, 'Elite: Dangerous' is now out in full, and that means that players on the Xbox One are on the same servers as PC and Mac players. (See our Xbox One impressions here.) It also means that the new CQC instant-action PvP multiplayer mode has arrived, not only on the PC and Mac, but also on the Xbox One as part of update 1.4.
Update 1.4 includes the new CQC mode along with new ships and other content.
From Frontier Developments,
CQC is the ultimate 34th century gladiatorial contest between Elite Dangerous pilots, thrusting players into intense PVP action in custom-built arenas set within the Elite Dangerous galaxy. Equip a unique loadout on your Sidewinder, Eagle or new Federal Fighter spacecraft and unlock new weapons, modules and abilities as you take on the galaxy’s finest.
CQC is not just for fun. A $100,000 CQC tournament is in the works with plans for qualifying and for the grand final set for 2016.
