The other Michael Jordan.
The star of one of 2015's best films will play a pivotal role in 'NBA 2K17's MyCareer mode. 2K Sports have announced that Michael B. Jordan, who gained critical acclaim as Adonis Creed in 'Creed,' will play a rising NBA star named Justice Young in the game's career mode. Young will help 'NBA 2K17' players get their footing in the league, and will factor into in-game choices that will "directly impact outcomes on-and-off the court."
Michael B. Jordan has been a huge fan of 2K's basketball simulator and is excited about starring in the game. "'NBA 2K17 was the perfect platform to connect with a new, unique audience and challenge myself to expand my abilities as an actor," said Jordan. "I’m humbled at the opportunity to help influence [the] franchise."
Last year's MyCareer mode featured a story directed by filmmaker Spike Lee called 'Livin' Da Dream.' According to 'NBA 2K's Vice President of Marketing Alfie Brody, last year's mode factored into getting Michael B. Jordan involved. "Working with an actor of Michael’s caliber represents a commitment to giving our fans only the best," said Brody. "[We are] continuing to push ourselves as an entertainment platform."
'NBA 2K17' launches September 20th on PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC. Gamers will be able to start their careers early on September 9th by downloading the free 'Prelude.'
