Long as you own a console, you're in.
EA is kicking the new year off right, giving folks who want a piece of the 'Plants vs Zombies 2' action before the full game launches on February 23rd a sneak peek at what they can expect next week. An open beta is planned for the PS4 and Xbox One, which will run from January 14th through the 18th.
The beta will allow for 24-player matches across four of the game's maps, through several game modes, including one of the new ones called Herbal Assault, where the zombies have to defend against a plant attack. You'll be playing as six all new character classes: Rose, Citron, and Kernel Corn on the plant side,Imp, Super Brainz, and Captain Deadbeard on the zombie side. You'll also get limited access to Backyard Battleground, the game's hub world.
The beta will be free to all, long as they can hit the Playstation Store/Xbox Live on the 14th. PC folk will have to be patient till February 23rd. Till then, enjoy the trailer for the beta.
