It's time to look forward to a new FIFA.
Yesterday, the 2014 World Cup concluded in a 120 minute 1-0 win by Germany over Argentina. Now, in a move that should not come as a surprise to fans of the series, EA Sports has officially declared Argentina and Barcelona icon Leo Messi the cover star for 'FIFA 15.' This will be the third year straight for Messi, who has become the face of football/soccer at EA Sports. As in previous years, there will be regional variations for the game's cover which will feature both Messi and local star.
From EA Sports, "This past season, the 27 year old had 28 league goals for FC Barcelona and captained Argentina to the FIFA World Cup final. During the World Cup Messi won four Man of the Match awards, scored four times and received the Golden Ball award for best player of the tournament."
"Leo Messi was originally announced as an EA SPORTS Football Ambassador in November 2011, a partnership that has not only put him on the cover of multiple FIFA titles but also brought a new street football pitch to Barcelona thanks to the Messi foundation and EA SPORTS."
