The best of the YouTube experience is coming to live TV.
Google has announced its new YouTube TV platform. The new subscription live TV streaming service will be available soon in the US for $35 per month.
YouTube TV will offer access to more than 40 live streaming networks, regional sports channels, and cable stations, including ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, The CW, ESPN, Fox News, MSNBC, USA, Syfy, FX, Disney Channel, Sprout, E!, Bravo, and more. Likewise, the platform will include an unlimited Cloud DVR feature as well, allowing users to record as many shows as they want at the same time with no storage limitations. Each recording will be available across supported playback devices and will be stored for nine months. In addition, the internet TV service will also provide access to YouTube Red original series and movies, along with the option to add Showtime or Fox Soccer Plus to the channel lineup for an extra fee.
Here's a full rundown of the channel lineup per the YouTube Blog:
YouTube TV will cost $35 per month and every membership comes with six accounts, allowing unique recommendations and personal DVRs for each account. Likewise, every membership offers support for up to three concurrent streams at a time.
An exact release date has not been announced yet, but YouTube TV will be available through Android and iOS mobile devices and PCs soon. Likewise, users will be able to cast the service to their TVs via a Google Chromecast or Chromecast built-in TV. The service will first launch in the largest US markets and will then expand to more cities nationwide. Interested customers can sign up for updates about availability at tv.youtube.com.
