The company's new stereo receiver has been detailed.
Yamaha has announced the latest addition to its home audio lineup. The R-N402 MusicCast Enabled Hi-Fi Network Receiver offers high-res playback and multiroom audio streaming.
"The R-N402 Hi-Fi network receiver redefines the Hi-Fi experience through the addition of our state-of-the-art MusicCast wireless multiroom audio system," said Bob Goedken, general manager, AV division, Yamaha Corporation of America. "This ground breaking experience bridges the simplicity and sophistication of Hi-Fi listening with the exciting lifestyle enhancements provided by Bluetooth®, Apple® AirPlay® and MusicCast wireless multiroom audio technologies."
The 2-channel receiver features 100 W per channel and includes support for music streaming services like Pandora, Spotify, Rhapsody, Napster, SiriusXM Internet Radio and vTuner. Likewise, the unit offers Bluetooth, AirPlay, DLNA, and USB connectivity. In addition, high-res audio playback for DSD 5.6 MHz, AIFF 192 kHz/24 bit, FLAC 192 kHz/24 bit, Apple Lossless 96 kHz/24 bit, and WAV 192 kHz/24 bit files is supported as well. Finally, the device also uses Yamaha's MusicCast wireless multiroom audio system. With MusicCast, users can stream music through a simple Android or iOS app, and easily link to other MusicCast products like speakers, AV receivers and Hi-Fi gear in other rooms to share music throughout the home.
