Xbox Live Gold members can attempt to cooperate in 'Dead Island.'
The Xbox 360 Games with Gold program, which grants Xbox Gold members permanent ownership of certain downloadable games, continues to offer downloadable 360 titles. This month begins with Deep Silver's four-player 'Diablo' meets 'Left 4 Dead' tropical paradise, 'Dead Island,'
'Dead Island' is a "holiday paradise gone mad after a zombie outbreak. The player’s only chance to survive is to escape from the island. Dead Island combines first-person action with a heavy focus on melee combat, character development and customization of a vast array of weapons. All of these features are presented in a dark zombie story with a campaign that can be played with up to 4 players in co-op mode."
The worst part of 'Dead Island' was its launch month bugs, so by now, two and half years after launch, the game should offer a much more stable online experience.
The second half of February will feature 'Toy Soldiers: Cold War' which also has a big co-op focus.
"The Cold War is decided when ‘80s era action toys come alive and wage war! Toy Soldiers: Cold War blends intense first person combat with addictive action strategy, whether you’re scrapping solo or jumping into the fray with friends. Battle in campaign, competitive, co-op modes or fight for the highest score in mini-games!"
Xbox Live Gold Members need to be sure to download the free games while they are available, and unlike PS Plus games, Games with Gold do not require a continued Xbox Gold memebrship.
