Already plotting its 2008 next-gen release schedule, Warner Home Entertainment has revealed plans to bring the Oscar-winning classics 'Amadeus' and 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' to Blu-ray and HD DVD early next year.
As reported by Home Media Retailing, the news comes as part of an announcement by the studio that they have just signed a five-year renewal of their long-standing distribution pact with Saul Zaentz, the famed producer behind 'Amadeus' and 'Cuckoo's Nest.'
Warner plans to re-issue both titles as part of an extensive promotion celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Academy Awards, as well as in honor of the Best Picture Oscar wins garnered by both 'Amadeus' and 'Cuckoo's Nest.'
Warner will issue both titles sometime in February 2008, simultaneous on Blu-ray and HD DVD.
Specs and further details are, of course, still in the planning stages. But we'll certainly keep you posted as soon as further news comes in on what are sure to be two eagerly-awaited titles.
In anticipation of an eventual full announcement for 'Amadeus' and 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest,' we've added both titles to the "Street Dates Pending" sections of our Blu-ray Release Schedule and HD DVD Release Schedule. Watch this space!
