The direct quote - "You are being trolled."
It's easy to get excited about new games and it's easier still when talking about a hotly anticipated title like 'Half-Life 3.' The game has been in the works for some time now and it seems like Valve should be right on the edge of releasing it.
The games fans, based on the company's past marketing strategies and often clever ways of revealing things about their titles, have been parsing the information they have in order to get a hint at what's to come. They thought they found something in a speech given at the VGAs but Valve says this just isn't the case.
"You are being trolled," says Valve's Chet Faliszek. "There has been no directive from Gabe to leak anything. That is all false. This is the community trolling the community nothing more."
It makes sense of course. 'Half-Life 2: Episode 3' is still on the horizon, so announcing a much larger sequel before the final expansion would be a bit ridiculous.
