Universal is bringing England's king of pratfalls to HD DVD this November with the release of the summer sleeper 'Mr. Bean's Holiday.'
The second in Rowan Atkinson's big-screen slapstick franchise, 'Mr. Bean's Holiday' emerged as an underdog hit at the worldwide box office, grossing over $220 million. Sure to find an even more appreciative American audience on video, Universal Studios Home Entertainment will debut the film as a HD DVD/DVD combo, day-and-date with the standard-def DVD version just in time for the holidays on November 27.
Tech specs include the studio's standard 1080p/VC-1 video, along with Dolby TrueHD 5.1 Surround and Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 Surround tracks.
As this announcement is just hitting retail and Universal's online consumer site, the full press details are still on the way, so we'll keep you posted on the disc's supplements as soon as they are confirmed.
Universal has set its usual $39.98 day-and-date combo price for 'Mr. Bean's Holiday.'
